Something new is shifting

A small group. Eight weeks. One direction: forward.

The Stigma Shift Founding Cohort is an 8-week small-group experience built around Shaun McClure's Five Gears framework.

Together, you'll move from recognizing where you're stuck to building support, discipline, purpose, momentum—and a practical plan for what comes next. It's honest, direct and practical: real conversations, real tools, and a small group moving forward together.

The framework

Built on the Five Gears

You don't rebuild a life all at once. You shift one gear at a time.

  1. Gear 1

    Awareness & Acceptance

You can't change what you cannot see.

  2. Gear 2

    Seeking Help & Research

    Understanding changes everything.

  3. Gear 3

    Discipline, Healing & Growth

Healing isn't the destination. It's the way forward.

  4. Gear 4

    Purpose & Momentum

Your story becomes your strength when it's lived with purpose.

    The turning point

  5. Gear 5

    Mastery & Legacy

Leave hope where stigma once lived.

Fourth Gear is where the question shifts from “What happened?” to “What now?”

  7. Week 7

    Momentum & Contribution

    Put purpose into motion.

  8. Week 8

Mastery, Legacy & Your Next 90 Days

Where do I go from here?

How it works

What a week looks like

  1. 1

    90-minute group session

Learn and work through the week's focus together.

  2. 2

    Small daily practice

A few focused minutes a day to put it into action.

  3. 3

    Midweek check-in

    Accountability and support between sessions.

  4. 4

    Reflect & adjust

Notice what worked, what didn't, and why.

  5. 5

    Next shift

Carry it forward into the next week.

This is an active program. You won't just come to listen to Shaun speak—you'll practice what you're learning between sessions and have accountability throughout all eight weeks.

Who this is for

For people who know something needs to change

This cohort is for you if you know something in your life needs to change, but you're not sure how to move forward.

Maybe you're rebuilding after a setback. Maybe you're navigating recovery, life after incarceration, a major transition, a loss, or a career change. Or maybe you've simply felt stuck for longer than you'd like to admit.

You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to be ready to show up, be honest, and do the work between sessions.

Participants must be 18 or older.

Shaun McClure speaking on stage

Meet Shaun

I spent years surviving my story. Then I learned how to use it.

I'm Shaun McClure—mental health advocate, speaker, educator, coach, CIT Certified, NAMI leader, former radio host, and creator of the Five Gears framework.

The question that changed everything wasn't “What's wrong with me?” It was “What happened to me—and what am I going to do with it now?”

That question became a doorway. Education, peer leadership, discipline, fitness, recovery, advocacy, service, and eventually purpose began to stack on top of each other. The Five Gears grew out of that experience: a practical framework for awareness, help-seeking, healing, discipline, purpose, momentum, and legacy.
